  • Desperate times
  • Time is money
  • Time travel
  • One day at a time
  • Time is up

Time is one of the greatest and must frustrating factors to our lives. It’s the great equalizer. We all have the same amount of time in a day. What then, makes it seem as though some people are graced with an extra five or six hours to accomplish significantly more in a single day? Why is it that we can learn and implement time management system after time management system only to fall back into the same old patterns of being overwhelmed with too much to do at the end of the day, week, month?

There are a great many factors that can play into your own time management challenges.  It’s a comprehensive concept that is interwoven into the fabric of our lives.  Just imagine the differences that time makes for some people…

To realize the value of one year:
Ask a student who has failed a final exam.

To realize the value of one month:
Ask a mother who has given birth to a premature baby.

To realize the value of one week:
Ask an editor of a weekly newspaper.

To realize the value of one hour:
Ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.

To realize the value of one minute:
Ask the person who has missed the train, bus or
plane.

To realize the value of one-second:
Ask a person who has survived an accident.

To realize the value of one millisecond:
Ask the person who has won a silver medal in the
Olympics.

So what does time really mean to you?  Do you value your time? Do you make the most out of every minute of every day?  If you don’t, it may simply because you haven’t adjusted your beliefs around time.
