Things I’m Grateful For

Today is the start of Gratitude Project 2012. This second annual event encompasses sharing your gratitude for 90 days until Thanksgiving day in the USA. In honor of this project, I thought I’d take a moment to start you off and list 90 things for which I am grateful. Please feel free to use these as prompts for your own gratitude.

  1. My amazingly sweet, loving and handy husband.
  2. My inspiring, emotionally connected 17 year old son.
  3. My strong-willed, confident 17 year old bonus sun.
  4. My 3 loving dogs.
  5. My mom who showed me the importance of taking care of myself.
  6. My dad who taught me how to talk to strangers (in a good way).
  7. My curly hair.
  8. My beautiful home.
  9. My ability to see things in a unique way.
  10. My sister who shows me the value of putting family first.
  11. The people in my life who accept me just as I am.
  12. Colored pens.
  13. A cold beer on a hot summer day.
  14. A cup of hot cocoa on a cold winter eve.
  15. The ability to say what is important to me.
  16. My brother who makes me laugh.
  17. A cool breeze.
  18. A good book.
  19. Being able to ask for help.
  20. Knowing the money is there even when an unforeseen expense comes up.
  21. Helping people gain clarity.
  22. Butterflies.
  23. Horses.
  24. An amazing photograph.
  25. Getting to travel.
  26. A comfortable bed when I’m really tired.
  27. A car that gets me where I need to go and that I enjoy driving.
  28. Helping people find the positive within them.
  29. My coaching clients.
  30. My longest and still best friend, Michelle Smith.
  31. My newest best friend, Teffani Tosti.
  32. Some of the other people I’m honored to call dear friend; Karole Davis, Dave Cooke, Paul Guerrero, Torrie Holder-Mounts, Tom and Sue Haven, and so many more.
  33. Sunsets.
  34. The people that love their job even if what they do is drive a taxi or shine shoes.
  35. The person who lets me in to oncoming traffic.
  36. The person who doesn’t and thus reminds me to take a deep breath and relax.
  37. Listening to audio books in the car.
  38. Being able to read, even if I’m slower than most.
  39. Knowing I have a very good life.
  40. Knowing that it’s up to me to make it even better.
  41. Going to live auctions just for the fun of it.
  42. Fresh fruit.
  43. Sharing my gifts with others.
  44. Having a profession that fulfills me.
  45. Success Magazine for all the inspiration it provides.
  46. Migraine free days.
  47. Migraines that remind me t be grateful for the migraine free days.
  48. Quiet talks that go long into the night.
  49. That moment when I realize I just said exactly the right thing.
  50. Being a best selling author.
  51. My house plants.
  52. The full moon.
  53. Living in an amazing country.
  54. Belief in myself.
  55. Finding the good in others.
  56. My ability to see a different perspective.
  57. Roller coasters.
  58. Long hikes in the woods.
  59. A phone headset that prevents the  sore neck.
  60. A good massage.
  61. Antiques that remind me of a simpler time.
  62. Knowing that what I do helps others.
  63. Hugs.
  64. Love notes.
  65. Compliments.
  66. Constructive criticism.
  67. Learning new things.
  68. A good nap, when nothing else will do.
  69. Exercise.
  70. Progress.
  71. Change.
  72. Rain.
  73. That I always have a choice. Sometimes those choices aren’t easy, but I always have one.
  74. Motivational quotes.
  75. Waking up on the right side of the bed.
  76. Great ideas.
  77. Kettle corn.
  78. Being an organized person.
  79. That aha moment, whether mine or a client’s.
  80. A husband that cooks for me.
  81. A husband that paints m toes and rubs my feet.
  82. A husband that loves me beyond words.
  83. A husband that I can love beyond words.
  84. Jamaica.
  85. Turning 40 this year and owning it!
  86. Everyone that has ever taught me anything and that is just about everyone I have ever met (in person or virtually).
  87. Believing that I still live in the greatest country on earth at the greatest moment in time.
  88. Forgiveness.
  89. No regret.
  90. The past, the present and the future. They all have their place in my world.


This wasn’t a difficult activity, though it may be if it is your very first time facing your gratitude. Sometimes the hardest part is getting creative with a nice balance of things and thoughts/feelings.
